Roppongi the Novel – Top 1% of Amazon by Booksales – 12 in its Genre Category!

14 months after publication, Roppongi the Novel continues to sell well and be appreciated by pretty much everybody! It has been a fabulous journey so far, and I cannot thank my readers enough. It really is my favourite part, hearing from you guys about which parts of the novel resonated with you, and how it time-travelled you back to the mean streets of mid-90′s Roppongi. Those days are well gone now. With the advent of Roppongi-Hills and Tokyo Mid-town, Roppongi has long-since been gentrified almost beyond recognition … and is now a safe upmarket shopping mall suitable for families! ;)   Let’s call it “Roppongi-Lite,” shall we? :)

If you enjoyed reading Roppongi, PLEASE do me and the book a favour, and post your review on Amazon. Many thanks!

WOW! Roppongi is a wild ride into a part of Japanese “society” that is exciting, mysterious, dangerous and fascinating.

Zack, the main character, is bartender extraordinaire – though I think he does more chicks that tending bar. But, he is a very likeable character – and I think a little troubled.

I’m not a weepy person – but the letter that Zack writes Carla at the end just about did me. LOVED it.

This is Nick’s first book and I really enjoyed it. The only criticism that I have is there wasn’t enough dialogue between characters in the first half of the book. In the second half, Nick got his groove on and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next.

I would love to see Johnny Depp play Zack. Of course, I just love Johnny Depp in anything!

BUY the book …..You’ll love it. It will open up a whole new world for you!

Where’s Book Two, Nick?

Do not hesitate to buy this book!! You will not regret it. This is one of the best books I have read in years! An engaging story filled with intrigue, action, drugs, love, sex. All the things one wants to experience when traveling abroad. All very well written. This book gives you insight into a world most people never experience.

The book captures your interest right away and pulls you in for a wild ride. It is a wonderful and exciting ride, one you are glad you took, through the safe distance of the characters. Vasey does a fantastic job of creating well developed characters, and a very likeable protagonist Zack. An excellent effort from a first time author.

Roppongi offers a wonderful way to escape the drab everyday life many of us experience. I found myself not wanting to put it down. When at work, I was eagerly anticipating getting home to read more. It is an absolute pleasure to get lost in Vasey’s world of Roppongi. Without a doubt his book would make a great movie.

I eagerly await more from this exceptionally talented author. Until then I will be reading Roppongi again, as well as recommending it to anyone looking for a fantastic book to read!

Nick does a terrific job capturing the frenetic pace of Roppongi.
Those who have never been there will still enjoy the book for its high paced story telling.
I enjoyed it immensely.

For lovers of action it has it in spades.
If you have a vague interest in Tokyo and how the foreigners cope with the surreal daily life, it’s eye opening.
If you just love a good story – buy it! You won’t be disappointed.
The best book I have read this year.

I really enjoyed this read. I’ve never been to Roppongi and have no way to know if even a fraction of what was written was true. But in my imagination, and to the writer’s credit, I definitely felt as though I was there and it was happening.

I feel like the book started a bit slow but once it got to Tokyo a couple chapters later, bam! Hold onto your panties, you’re in for a wild ride. Every chapter ends a bit of a cliff hanger and you think to yourself “ok, one more chapter, then I’m going to bed.” Which inevitably turned into about 10 or 12 more chapters!

The book was well-written and well thought out. There were some things I guessed and then a couple of items that completed surprised me but played in nicely to the story. In fact, after I was done reading the book, I wanted to read it again so that I could see all the subtle hints throughout the book that I missed the first time around.

If you’re looking for a wild, sexy, entertaining and intelligent novel, then Roppongi is definitely for you!

Oh and I most certainly hope this gets made into a movie. That would be incredible!

I have a small collection of ‘Roppongi’ based fiction, and most turn out to be a disappointment, being barely veiled ego boosts by the author. This was not. Although the work is fiction, and you have to remind yourself of this fact, the background to this story is very very close to the experience that Roppongi provided to so many, albeit perhaps an extreme version for some. Not a bad read at all, not a difficult book or high-brow … it is entertaining. For anyone who ever lived there, or anyone who ever wanted to, or those that want to read about another world, this is a good read.
